What is IE-Bus
IE-Bus (Inter Equipment Bus ) is the bus for digital data transfer system on a small scale.
Feature
- Multi-master method;
All units connected to the IE-Bus(BUS+,BUS-:twist pair lines)can transmit data to every other connected unit.(Shown in below figure) - Broadcast function (one-unit-to-multiple-units communication);
In ordinary communication, transmission and reception are performed between one master unit and one associated slave unit.
Broadcast can also be done between one master unit and more than one slave unit.
In this case master unit transmits data to an arbitrary number of slave units. - IC for IE-bus;
µPD72042B and some products are available for IE-Bus protocol control IC.
The µPD72042B performs all the processing required for layers 1 and 2 of the IE-Bus.
The device incorporates large transmission and reception buffers, allowing the microcomputer to perform IE-Bus operations without interruption.
It also contains an IE-Bus driver and receiver, allowing it to directly connected to the bus.
